Responsibilities include:

·         Use our Find Your Financial Nature assessment to help clients understand how they are hard- wired for money.

·         Meeting individually with clients to determine their financial objectives, risk tolerance, resources, income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.

·         Offering strategic advice on products and services, such as investments, insurance coverage and debt management tools.

·         Securing stocks, bonds and establishing progressive investment accounts

·         Moving money from accounts per industry and federal regulations

·         Performing market research to stay current with financial trends

·         Preparing financial documents, income projections and portfolio review reports

·         Maintaining compliance with all rules and regulations in the financial industry

·         Identifying and pursuing potential clients to maintain a strong and growing client base

Requirements

·         Series 7 and 66 (63/65) required

·         Insurance license required

·         Three or more years of investment sales experience

Accountant

Shepard FINANCIAL is looking for a full-time Accountant to join our team in Yarmouth, ME, with flexibility for some remote work. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring correct financial procedures are being followed. The Accountant will also be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, as well as coding documents according to company procedures. The ideal candidate has experience with accounting software and is highly organized with great attention to detail. CPA not necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field, or equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or financial analysis

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and accounting software such as Quickbooks or Xero

  • Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail

  • The ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced office environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • An understanding of federal, state and local tax and compliance regulations is a plus


Bookkeeper

Role Description

This is a full-time Bookkeeper role located in Yarmouth, ME with flexibility for partial remote work. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing financial transactions, balancing accounts, generating financial reports, and maintaining accurate financial records for our clients. The role involves working closely with our clients and team members, so strong communication and interpersonal skills are important.

 Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience working as a bookkeeper or in a related role

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and familiarity with accounting software

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate working with clients and team members

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality in handling financial information
